***Duplicate of message posted on Debra's e-portfolio forum***

Hello everyone,

During Debra's live e-portfolio session last night, I mentioned I'd post an invitation to participate in a live Elluminate (now known as Collaborate) session next week. I'm wondering if any of you are interested in joining that session.

What it's about:

The idea for now is that I (and any of you who wants to) would share our screen as we walk through the e-portfolio site to start to get our bearings, help each other figure out how to add items/pages, discuss format possibilities, and/or just get an informal support community going. (I'll do my best to get familiar with it before we meet.) Ideally someone with some solid knowledge of Mahara would be present as well. I can share "facilitator" rights with anyone who is interested, and can record the session as well.

Time:

Monday, February 11, 6:30-7:30 PM MST (8:30 PM EST)

If anyone is interested, can you please post a response here so we'll know whether it's still on? We can post a final it's-a-go message over the weekend.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please post.

Cheers,

Stella

Hi there,

I completed my e-Portfolio a year ago and would be happy to share my experience and portfolio . . . If it would be useful to your efforts.

Hi Stella, Thanks so much for organizing this session and perhaps the start of our support group.

I am definitely interested and the timing is perfect. It will kickstart my three weeks vacation that I'm looking forward to spending formating my artifacts into something of meaning. I guess that sounds facetious but I really am looking forward to having a block of time instead of juggling all the things we do each day.

I have minimal Mahara experience but some elearning and online design experience to contribute.

Cheers, Pat.

Hi Pat,

That's great! I'll be looking forward to your insights.

And it doesn't sound facetious at all--I'm thinking of asking to take some vacation time earlier than normal so I can focus on the portfolio too. When there are so many competing demands, it's hard to cordon off the time to sit still and deliberately reflect on something that seems utterly completed. :)

Talk with you soon.

Cheers,

Stella

I must agree with all.

Thank you Stella for offering this.  610 is my second last course.  I hope to finished the clases by June.  It I can organzie my e-port by then would be great.  I too may have to take some vacation if I can get my boss to let me, to get it done.

I am hoping it will be easier after we learn how to create it.  I thought 5-6 artefacts was going to be not too bad, until debra suggested we should have a dozen so we could pick.  I could see that more if I was starting at th beginning and collect them as I go.  Being almost finished it seems to be more daunting to make 12 to only use 6l.

Maybe once I get into it, it will be easier to find some more.

Looking forward to Monday.

Thanks again.

Hi Martin,

I'm going to guess that once we're in there posting bits and pieces, it's all going to start to roll quickly. And I always find that if I'm under threat of making a fool of myself in front of peers, the prospective shame lights a fire under me to get cracking and focus!  :)

See you Monday!

Cheers,

Stella

No worries. Blind leading the blind. We bound to bump into something eventually. Cool

Hi everyone,

Stella thanks for organizing the session on Monday. I am looking forward to it. I have completed all my courses and now the focus is on the e-portfolio. I am hoping and planning on graduating June 2013.

Looking forward to working with you all on this final part of our journey.

Thanks,

Ajesh

Hi,

I was unable to make the session last night, so was glad to see this invitation. I'm a newbie, 610 is my first DE course at Athabasca, I'd be happy to join you.

Cheers

Donna
