Based largely on my own personal beliefs, values, and morals, the mind map was created to express my connections between previous course work, assignments, projects, tasks, and my growth as an individual and professional within the Human Services field to that of the chosen program outcomes for BPA-HSRV.
I have strong confidence in the field of Harm Reduction and the belief in drug decriminalization as an effective way in curbing the ongoing opioid epidemic; as a current front line Harm Reduction professional, I bear witness to the everyday struggles of vulnerable and marginalized populations that struggle with drug use and the circumstances that come along with such (mental illness, homelessness, poverty, food insecurities, etc.). The attached mind map and correlating assignments that relate to my chosen program outcomes play a significant role in my development as a front line Harm Reduction worker and a growing advocate for those who struggle with substance use and addiction.
