Cloud Computing

The timing of all things within this class has been impeccable.  Today I attended a lunch with fellow CIPS (Canadian Information Processing Society) members to discuss the current changes and challenges in the IT industry.  There was a panel of 4 CIOs (Chief Information Officers) and they each discussed the relevant topics.  Some of the biggest challenges or changes mentioned were not being able to find skilled employees, employees bringing mobile devices to work, and moving toward cloud computing.

Good thing I read the Unit 10 book and supporting documents, I felt very in the now and knowledgeable about the said topics.

It does seem as if we are going full circle, from mainframe to personalization to cloud.  I am curious of how it is going to affect the industry in terms of job creation (or deletion) in the IT sector.  It concerns me as an IT instructor about how we are currently training our students.  Of course that is not the topic of this class, so I will try to stay on track.
