Types of groups

There are a number of group types in the e-portfolio tool.  They are:

  • Open Membership. Anyone can become a member of this type of group.
  • Request Membership. Anyone can request to join this type of group, but the group owner has to approve their request to become a member.
  • Controlled Membership. This membership of this type of group is managed by an administrator and can only be created by an administrator. Users who are added to this type of group cannot leave it.

There are also course groups, created by administrators and instructors, which allow you to submit your e-portfolios as an assignment.
